Triple H took a cheeky jibe at Deontay Wilder’s excuse for losing to Tyson Fury on Twitter.
Wilder was knocked out by Fury in the seventh round of their heavyweight world title rematch fight in Las Vegas last month.
Afterwards, Wilder claimed the heaviness of his ring walk costume, which weighed around 40 pounds, played a part in his below-par performance.
He told The Athletic: “A lot of people saw I wasn’t the same Deontay Wilder in there and they’re correct.
“It’s my own fault. My uniform I wore was very heavy for me. I had no legs from the first round on,” he added, explaining he only tried it on the night before.
“My main focus was to survive with my legs, and not on the principles I know and normally think of. I couldn’t follow up with the game plan because of my legs. I couldn’t do anything.”
Fury had a brief run with WWE last year as he beat Braun Strowman at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia.
The match happened just four months before his triumph over Wilder.
And Triple H, WWE’s executive vice president of talent, live events and creative, poked fun at Wilder’s excuse on social media.
The Game referenced his own ring walk gear at WreslteMania 30 when he lost in the pay-per-view’s opening match to Daniel Bryan.
Triple H tweeted: “Just as an FYI. That entrance costume was super heavy …. Like 45 lbs ….. My legs were shot… Only reason Daniel beat me !!!!!!”
WrestleMania 30 is remembered fondly by fans as Bryan went on to beat Randy Orton and Batista in the main event to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
